What happens in a Small Group?
The three main things that happen in a Small Group are fellowship, discussion and prayer. Participants spend time getting to know each other and building friendships. They discuss how Bible principles can be lived in day-to-day life and they share prayer needs.
The specific Biblical principles they discuss in a meeting are based on what was covered in the most recent Sunday morning sermon at Marlton Assembly. Discussion questions are provided to group participants on Sunday mornings so that they can prepare for their Small Group meeting.
How frequently does a Small Group meet?
There are two possible meeting frequencies. Some groups meet weekly. Others meet less frequently, following a schedule that is announced before each quarter. Information about a group’s frequency is provided during each sign-up period.
How long does a meeting last?
Meetings last from 90 minutes to 2 hours, depending on what each group decides for itself.
How long do I have to commit to be in a group?
A group commitment lasts for just one quarter of 8-12 weeks. The Small Group calendar is divided into three quarters and roughly follows a standard school year (mid-September through mid-June). Small Groups take the summers off.
How do I sign-up for a Small Group?
The sign-up period for each quarter begins 2-3 weeks before the start of a new quarter. Brochures with a tear-off registration form are provided in the church lobby and a sign-up page is posted on the church website. Interested participants can use either method to sign up for the group they want to join.
